The structure and mechanical properties of 960~1020 ℃ solid solution treated + 720 ℃ 8 h furnace cooling to 620 ℃8 h air cooling double aging modified 718 alloy have been studied by X- ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscope(SEM).Results showed that with increasing solid solution temperature the ambient and 350 ℃ strength of alloy decreased
while plasticity and toughness increased; with increasing solid solution temperature
the amount of strengthening phase η in alloy decreased and disappeared at 1000 ℃
