The deoxidization behavior of magnesium alloy (8% ~ 15% Mg) deoxidizer- AlMg

SiCaBaAlMg to 0. 05% 〜0. 07% C steel has been studied by a 30 kg induction furnace with MgO crucible. Test results showed that with deoxidation using AlMg alloy contained 8% 〜10% Mg the oxygen content in steel decreased to 33.77 x 10

with deoxidation using SiCaBaAlMg alloy contained 15% Mg the oxygen content in steel decreased to 38.62 x 10

while magnesium alloy had strong desulphurization efiEect during deoxidized period
with initial sulphur content 0.063% in steel the desulphurization rate by AlMg alloy was 46.03% and that by SiCaBaAlMg core wire was 49.21%.
