8~11Ni) clad sheet has been carried out by software MARC to get the distribution of stress and strain at interface of Q235 carbon steel and 304 stainless steel. Simulation results indicated that the stainless and carbon steel can be bonded as both materials being plastic stage and the normal stress at interface being up to or larger than the deformation resistance of 304 stainless steel
and the diference of average strain between both materials being less than 0.01.The simulation results were in a- greement with that of pilot commercial production. It shows that using small reduction ratio at single pass with large cumula- tive deformation rate is available to get excellent combined carbon/stainless clad sheet.
