With prototype of tundish for concasting slab 1 500 mm x 250 mm and using geometric similar ratio 1/3

the water modeling test of tundish bottom gas blowing has been carried out by self-made porous plug. Results showed that in tundish with gas curtain the inclusion removed by mechanisms of Stokes floating

absorption on bubble and action of liquid flowing up； as gas blowing rate ≥O. 08 m

/h the available gas curtain formed at the distance 533 〜800 mm from inlet center to obviously improve hquhl flow characteristic

the inclusion removal ratio increased to 72. 86% from original 44. 86% without gas curtain and the removal of small size inclusion markedly improved. Commercial pilot production showed that with using gas curtain the T[O
