The optimum design of tundish structure for No2 concaster at Stainless Steel Plant
Tang Steel has been carried out by water modeling test. The tundish dam
weir and turbulence inhibiting on flow field in tundish with 180~200 mm slab casting speed 1.02~1.55 m/min was studied to obtain optimum structure and geometric parameters for tundish. After optimum
with flow rate 4.5 m
3
/h
the minimum residence time increased to 106 s from original 52 s
average residence time increased to 572 s from original 405 s
and dead zone volume decreased from 6.21% to 3.51%.
