the effect of Ti content on Ti inclusion content in steel and austenite grain growth tendency and the effect of C - Ti on hardenability and mechanical properties of gear steel 20CrMnTi have been studied. Results showed that with Ti content more than 0. 03%
the amount of Ti inclusion in steel increased obviously
with increasing Ti content from 0. 01% to 0. 04%
the austenite grain rating at 980 ℃ fbr Ih increased from 5 to 8
and with controlling C-Ti = 0. 12%
the width of hardenability band of steel was HRC 4-6.
