anti-stress corrosion and high temperature anti-oxidizing properties of ferritic stainless steels(11%~30%Cr)are better than that of austenitic stainless
but normal feritic stainless steels have higher intergranular corrosion sensitivity
lower plasticity and toughness
and greater tendency to welding crack. It is obtained by analysis that addition of rare earth elements in feritic stainless steels may improve solidification structure of steel
effect precipitating morphology of carbon-nitride
fine grain size
change morphology of sulphide and composition of inclusion in steel
in order to improve transverse toughness of steel
weldability and fatigue property. Therefore the research work of ap- plication for rare earth elements adding in ferritic stainless steel has promising prospect.
