The structure and hardness of steel 6Cr15Mo (% : 0.59C

hardness and impact toughness of that steel quenched at 1 080 °C + tempered at 100 ~700 °C have been studied. Results show that the hardness of steel 6Cr15Mo quenched at 1 080 ℃ has highest hardness (average HRC value 61. 6)
the second hardness peak of steel tempered at 500 ℃ occurs with lower impact toughness (12 J/cm
2
)
and the optimum strength-toughness combination of steel is got by quenched at 1 080 ℃ + tempered at 150 ~250 ℃
that is average HRC value 55 with impact value 17 J/cm
