Based on established finite element model with rolling parameters including roller diameter I 160 mm
rolling speed 1 000 ~ 3 000 mm/s
slab size (mm) 150 X 1 550 x 2 520
the simulated calculation on folding of medium and heavy plate of steel Q235 has been carried out by using finite element software ABAQUS/Explicit and effect of rolling speed
temperature difference of rolling stock (30 ~ 70 ℃ )
reduction of rolling stock (12-22 mm) on flatting amount of head of rolling stock is analyzed. It is obtained that with increasing temperature difference
rolling speed and reduction of stock the flatting amount of head of rolling stock increases and the folding defect shall be occurred in following rolling process
in order to decrease folding occurrence the larger temperature difference between top and bottom surface of stock should be avoided
and as the temperature difference is larger it is available to roll by using small reduction and low rolling speed.
