Based on the characteristics of water-cooling heat transfer of steel 82B and 72A Φ5. 5 ~ 12. 5 mm high speed rolled wire rods after rolling
with dividing water cooling process to 3 zones and according to open/close state of circle water nozzles
the boundary conditions according to nozzle number to deal with water cooling process in zones have been established by using two heat transfer models of water forced convection and water vapor convention heat transfer
and the temperature distribution of wire rod cross section after rolling in water cooling system is obtained by finite difference simulation. With real measured temperature value to correct the convection heat-transfer coefficient of water in water cooling process of high carbon steel wire rods
the simulation results show that the absolute error of average value between predicted and measured wire rods surface temperature at inlet of finishing rolling mill and at wire nozzle is within ± 20 ℃.
