A double loop-electrochemical proteinomimetic reactivation (DL-EPR) method is used to evaluate the intergranular corrosion (IGC) susceptibility of hot rolled and annealed 430 ferrite stainless steel (0. 038% C
16. 83% Cr). A suitable test parameter- in test solution 0. 05 mol/L H

with anodic potential scanning rate 5. 0 mV/s and reverse potential scanning rate 1.67 mV7s is determined
and the larger the value Ra (reverse scanning current Ir / anodic scanning current la) the - more serious the intergranular corrosion susceptibility of steel. Test results show that the hot rolled 430 ferritic stainless steel has obvious intergranular corrosion susceptibility and the Ra value of the sample air-cooled after rolling is larger than that
of the sample water-cooled after rolling; with annealed treatment at 750 〜850℃ for 10 min the intergranular corrosion susceptibility of hot rolled 430 ferrite stainless steel is effectively reduced and eliminated.
