The finite element simulation analysis model has been established by using full-scale general finite element software ANSYS
and the calculation and analysis on casting process of 0. 20C steel Φ600 mm round bloom and 40Cr steel Φ500 mm round bloom with casting rate 0. 25 ~0. 35 m/min and liquid overheating extent 20 ℃ has been carried out to get the curves of round bloom surface temperature changing at distance 0 ~ 32 m from liquid surface in casting process. Calculation results show that as the casting rate of 0. 20C steel Φ600 mm round bloom is 0. 3 m/min
the thickness of bloom shell at outlet of mold is 30. 9 mm
the bloom surface temperature at outlet of mold is 1 050 T and the lowest temperature of surface at secondary cooling zone is 978 ℃
the casting bloom solidifies in full at the distance 19. 71 m from liquid surface. The production practice by Φ600 mm round bloom caster casting 0. 20C steel show 由at with casting rate 0. 25 m/min
the surface temperature of casting bloom at outlet of mold is 1 048 °C and the lowest surface temperature of bloom in secondary cooling zone is 918 ℃ that are similar to simulated results.
