With using the theory of mold lubrication effect and by theory calculation on relation between mold oscillation parameters and liquid friction force and mold powder consumption
it is obtained that with increasing mold oscillation frequency the consumption of mold powder increases and with increasing the mold oscillation offset value the friction force of liquid in mold decreases
The application results of 160mmx160mm cast billet of cold-heading steel SWRCH35K show that with increasing the mold oscillation frequency from 160c/min to 190c/min
the consumption of mold powder increases from 0.35kg/t to 0.39kg/t
with increasing the mold oscillation offset value from 0.20 to 0.25
the friction force of liquid in mold decreases obviously to improve the surface quality of casting billet.
