The tundish flow control device affects the flow state of molten steel in the tundish and the uniformity of molten steel temperature
which determines whether the molten steel can be cast steadily with high quality. Based on the prototype of a 17 t double-flow tundish in a steel plant
the model is established with the ratio of 1: 2 to the actual tundish. Through orthogonal water simulation experiment and mathematical simulation of temperature field
the optimal combination of tundish flow control devices under the consideration of temperature is obtained as follows: the distance between weir and bottom of the tundish is 260 mm
the height of the dam is 360 mm
the distance between weir and nozzle is 580 mm
and the distance between dam and nozzle is 1 170 mm.
