The nitrogen content in GCr15 bearing steel at each melting phase in 50 t EAF-LF(VD)-CC process was analyzed to obtain that the EAF end [N] was(23~36)×10-⁶ and the N content in products was (79~104)×10-⁶.In order to decrease the N content in bearing steel
with charging ≥35% hot metal in EAF
using low nitrogen carbonizing agent
optimizing LF refining operation
VD vacuum ≤67 Pa
long nozzle and argon shielding casting
the average nitrogen content in GCr15 bearing steel products decreased to 54.8×10-⁶ from original 91.6×10-6.
