Effect of Heat Treatment Process on Microstructure and Properties of Base Steel RM80 for Cemented Carbide Bandsaw Blade
used for the base metal of carbide band saw blade. The metallographic phase was observed by the metallographic microscope and scanning electron microscope were used to observe ; The hardness testing was observed by the hardness tester; Hie flatigue life was verified by the idling fatigue test and high-speed cutting of copper. Hie results show that the quenching at high temperature for shorting time is the best process for RM80 steel during high-speed cutting;the best quenching temperature range is from 1150 ℃ to 1160 ℃
the material with the carbide fully dissolved and even small martensite ;the best tempering temperature is 640 ℃
the metallographic phase of the material is tempering sorbite. Through high-speed cutting experiments
the fatigue performance of the back material of steel RM80 increased by about 30%.
