The steel 12MnV with ≤0. 003% S is produced by operating such as adding lime in LF
controlling aluminum content at end of LF
injecting 80CaO-20CaF
2
powder in RH process and feeding aluminium wire at end of RH
and feeding calcium-silicon wire after RH process. The desulphurization data show that during the 110 t EAF-LF-RH-CC flow sheet the LF average desulphurizing efficiency is up to 88%
the RH average desulphurizing efficiency is less than 30% ; during steelmaking process for steel deoxidizing by aluminium
in non-feeding aluminium wire condition
with decreasing S content the Al content in steel decreases; and it is favourable for RH desulphurization
as there is sufficient Al in steel to dioxidize before RH process.
