Water Model Test of 58t Tundish with Channel Filter for Two Strands Slab Casting and Application

两流板坯连铸58t中间包过滤器的水模型试验和应用

Abstract:

The effect of channel filter on fluid field of liquid in a 58t tundish has been studied by using geometric similarity 0.29 : 1 water model to test liquid flow by both control flow devices- turbulence controller + retaining wall + dam and turbulence controller + retaining wall + channel filter. Results show that in original tundish with turbulence controller + retaining wall + dam the plug flow area is relatively small and the dead area is up to 29.53% , while in optimized tundish adding channel filter with turbulence controller + retaining wall + channel filter the short circuit flow basically disappears, the real resident time of liquid increases and the dead area decreases from original 29.53% to 13.52%. The results of commercial production with 50t tundish, casting 230mm x 1100mm slab and casting speed 1.25~1.30 m/min show that after using channel filter the size of inclusions in liquid at casting area in tundish is obvious less than that in impact zone, the T[O] in liquid at casting area in tundish decreases from original 

86x10-6  to 30x10-6 and the size of most inclusions in casting slab is≤10μm and the ≥30μm inclusions are not found.

摘要: 通过几何相似比0.29:1的水模型试验了湍流抑制器+挡墙+挡坝和湍流抑制器+挡墙+过滤器两种控流装置的钢液流动,研究了通道式过滤器对58t中间包钢液流场的影响。结果表明,原中间包(湍流抑制器+挡墙+挡坝)活塞区体积小,死区体积高达29.53%,优化中间包加入过滤器后(湍流抑制器+挡墙+过滤器)短路流基本消失,钢液的实际平均停留时间延长,死区体积由29.53%减小至13.52%。50t中间包,230mm×1100mm连铸板坯,拉速1.25~1.30m/min工业生产结果表明,使用过滤器后,中间包浇注区的夹杂物尺寸明显小于冲击区,中间包浇注区T[O]由原86×10-6降至30×10-6,连铸坯大多数夹杂物尺寸≤10μm,没有发现≥30μm夹杂物。
