Control of Nitrogen Content in Bearing Steel Steelmaking by a 50  t  EAF-LF(VD)-CC  Flowsheet

Abstract: The nitrogen content in GCr15 bearing steel at each melting phase in 50 t EAF-LF(VD)-CC process was analyzed to obtain that the EAF end [N] was(23~36)×10-⁶ and the N content in products was (79~104)×10-⁶.In order to decrease the N content in bearing steel, with charging ≥35% hot metal in EAF, using low nitrogen carbonizing agent, optimizing LF refining operation, VD vacuum ≤67 Pa, long nozzle and argon shielding casting, the average nitrogen content in GCr15 bearing steel products decreased to 54.8×10-⁶ from original 91.6×10-6.

摘要: 分析莱钢50 t EAF-LF(VD)-CC冶炼工艺各期GCr15轴承钢中氮含量的变化,得出电弧炉终点[N]为(23~36)×10-6,成品材N含量为(79-104) ×10-6。为降低轴承钢中的N含量,采取电弧炉兑入铁水量≥35%、用低氮增碳剂、优化LF精炼操作、VD真空度≤67 Pa、长水口和氩气保护浇铸等措施,使GCr15轴承钢材的平均氮含量从91.6×10-6降至54.8×10-6
